EL CANTARITO

 cocktail is a vibrant, citrusy drink popular in Mexico. It’s made with tequila, fresh orange, lime, and grapefruit juice, topped with soda for a refreshing finish. Often served in traditional clay cups, the drink is enhanced by a pinch of salt and can be sweetened with sugar or agave syrup. For garnish, use citrus slices or a rim of salt. It’s an ideal cocktail for warm weather.

  • Ingredients

    • La Nima Reposado Tequila- 2 Fluid oz. / 60 ml
    • Grapefruit Juice, freshly squeezed- ¾ oz. / 22 ml 
    • Orange Juice, freshly squeezed – ¾ oz. / 22 ml 
    • Lime Juice, freshly squeezed- ½ oz. / 15 ml 
    • Salt- 1 pinch 
    • Grapefruit soda, chilled, to top- about 3 oz. / 90 ml
    • Rim: Tajín seasoning
    • Garnish: lime wedge & orange wedge

    Instructions: If using a traditional clay cup (jarrito), submerge in water to cool. Take out and add Tajín rim. Add Ice. Squeeze orange juice, grapefruit juice, and lime juice into the jarrito or a cocktail shaker. Add La Nima Reposado Tequila, salt and stir or shake. Top of glass if grapefruit soda and garnish.
