
EL TODDY CALIENTE
The hot toddy’s origin is one of the most disputed, with links to India, Ireland, and Scotland. Regardless of the creator, it is a timeless drink to usher us into the cold season, and keep us warm throughout. This twist offers a more complex variation or the classic.
Ingredients:
- La Nima Añejo or Reposado Tequila – 1½ oz / 45 ml
- Fresh Lemon Juice- ¾ oz / 22 ml
- Honey or Agave Syrup – ¾ oz / 22 ml
- Angostura® Bitters – 2 dashes
- Hot Water- 6 ounces
- Ginger- 2 chunks
- Cardamom- 1 pod
- Garnish- Cinnamon Stick, Star Anise, Lemon Slice
Instructions: Bring water to a boil with ginger and cardamom in it, and set aside. Combine all ingredients, except hot water, into a tin shaker. Dry shake (no ice) for 4 seconds. Pour contents into a glass or ceramic mug with handle and top off with filtered hot water. Stir well and garnish.
